Frequently Asked Questions

If you've ever seen the Crystal Maze you might have the right idea. An escape room is a real-world, physical game featuring challenges, riddles, and mysteries to solve within a time limit. Working as a team, you need to complete your given mission before your time is up!

Our games are an immersive environments that drop you right into the heart of the story. These are fully themed and the game takes place in and around the room. Our mobile games are still 60 minute experiences but these are contained within a themed box e.g. a pirate chest or a wooden shipping crate. The game doesn't use any of the external environment and everything you need is in or on the box. Our mobile games take place in a specifically created space rather than a fully themed room. This is why our mobile games are less expensive. We can also bring our mobile games to you. If this is something you'd be interested in, contact us and we can discuss it further.

None of our escape games require you to be locked in. You are free to leave the room at any point but be aware, the timer will continue to tick....

Escape Coalville is located within the Belvoir Shopping Centre and is easily accessible from the M1 and A42. The centre has ample parking and is a stone's throw from us. You can also access Coalville from surrounding areas by bus. We have two locations within Coalville. The first is in the Belvoir Shopping Centre which holds JM's Office, The Coal Mine and Jasper's Jingless Christmas. The second is at The Marlene Reid Centre which hold Jane Doe, Heist and The Magician's Apprentice.

There is ample parking situated right by us. The Belvoir Shopping centre parking is in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. You can find more details on the Find Us tab at the top of the page.

We welcome players of all ages but if you are under the age of 14 you must have an adult on site with you. Our games don't contain any inappropriate imagery or theme. There is no minimum age limit to come and play our games.

Escape rooms are a very active experience and might require you to crawl or fit into smaller spaces. Therefore, we advise you wear something comfortable, particularly on your feet.

We ask groups to arrive 15 minutes before their game time. This will be highlighted in your pre-game email. This is so we can get your game started on time. As you can imagine, some days have many games booked in so we need to keep to time as much as we can. Arriving early means you can use the toilet, chat with your Games Master and be ready to play.

Don't panic, it happens to all of us. The most important thing you can do is to let us know. You can ring us on 01530 587273. We will do everything we can to fit you in but on some occasions it may not be feasible. If we can, it may mean that we have to reduce the time you have in the room.

We have lockers in reception in both venues that can be used to store away any items you don't want to take into the room. These are left at your own risk. For most games we do not expect you to place phones or watches in these lockers but we do ask that these items are not used in the game. The only exception is for The Coal Mine where we request any smart watches that light up need to be turned off or put away so as to not ruin the experience.

Yes, we allow you to take belongings into the room but these are not allowed to be used in the game. If you do need to use your phone you are able to exit the room to do so. Any use of a mobile phone in any of our games could result in the game ending prematurely

JM's office is designed to be as accessible as possible. While most of the game is easily accessible, there is a point in which at least one person will need to crawl. The Coal Mine is played entirely in the dark. While access is on the ground floor, there is some areas that require crawling. The ground floor of our Belvoir Shopping Centre of the building has good access for wheelchairs with the upper floor (which house Jasper's Jingless Christmas), accessible by a wide flight of stairs with a hand rail. Our Marlene Reid Centre venue is also on the ground floor. The Magician's Apprentice is accessible by wheelchair but part of the game does require access through a narrower gap. A wheelchair may not fit through this depending on it's size. Heist is played in a much smaller space. It is accessible on the ground floor but is not large enough for a wheelchair. Jane Doe is in the rear of an old ambulance. There is ramped entry but the smaller space means there isn't enough space for a wheelchair. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Our games are designed for 2-6 players. Jane Doe and Heist are a maximum of 4 players due to the size of the space.

Pricing varies varied depending the number of players there are in a group. All prices can be found under the Book Your Game tab at the top of the page.
